Chrys Young started carving tikis in 2000 after a transformative trip to Maui. Using mostly cedar and redwood from his yard, he carves each piece to exude its own personality and follows his own path, rather than replicate traditional Polynesian designs. As a result, his work is unique, distinctive and playful. His pieces range from purely sculptural free-standing tikis, hanging sculptures, paintings, illustrations, and functional pieces such as lamps and signs. We are honored to have Chrys return to Tiki Kon, and will be featuring some of his pieces in our signature Tiki Kon Lounge at the Red Lion.
